Description

On a recent analysis I found that the test turbine was exporting more reactive power in the post period then the pre period (due to a change in the wind farm voltage control). The change was large enough that it affected the AEP results. wind-up should bring in reactive power or power factor as standard and warn if there is a significant change in post compared to pre.

Research direction

Start by locating the pre/post analysis that computes AEP and identifying which turbine signals are available to it. Determine whether reactive power or power factor can be incorporated, then define what counts as a significant change and how it should be reported. Done means the analysis includes the selected metric and warns when the post-period value changes materially from the pre-period value.
