Description
Can we get an alert somewhere (maybe in the bottom bar, or a toast popup or notification) that indicates a failure to compile. I say this because I already have too many things to watch (test or JS output, red squiggles, server logs, etc), and sometimes I don't even realize there was a compiler error because stuff just keeps running off the last compiler output!

Research direction
The issue identifies compiler output and possible UI entry points: the bottom bar, a toast popup, or a notification. Start by locating how compiler failures reach the VSCode extension UI; done means a visible alert appears when compilation fails instead of relying on stale compiler output.
