Proposal for Donating the yaml-language-server Project to an Open Governance Foundation

I am filing to address a significant change in the yaml-language-server project's maintenance and governance. As a former contributor and leader of this project, I have recently departed from Red Hat. This departure has resulted in the loss of my rights to the repository and, consequently, left the project without active leadership or contributors.

Despite this, I believe strongly in the potential of the yaml-language-server, especially considering the active community and developers who have shown interest in contributing to its growth and success. To ensure the project's continuity and to foster a self-sustaining community, I propose donating the yaml-language-server project to an open governance foundation.

I suggest considering foundations such as the Eclipse Foundation or the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) for this purpose. These organizations have a proven track record of supporting open-source projects and can provide the necessary infrastructure and governance model to nurture and grow the yaml-language-server project.

By transitioning to an open governance model under a reputable foundation, we can ensure that the project benefits from a diverse group of contributors and maintainers, enhancing its development and adoption.

I am willing to assist in this transition and help establish a robust community around the project. Your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions on this proposal are highly welcome and appreciated.
