Description

There is a catalog of m2e connectors for various maven plugins (https://github.com/eclipse-m2e/m2e-discovery-catalog?tab=readme-ov-file). We should support installing new connectors from the catalog. Eclipse already does that, so there should be a blueprint for how to do this.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the m2e connector catalog and Eclipse's existing connector-installation behavior, as linked in the issue. Identify the relevant extension entry points and define the installation flow; done means new connectors can be installed from the catalog in vscode-java.
