Description
given two Gradle projects:
- https://docs.gradle.org/current/samples/zips/sample_building_java_applications-groovy-dsl.zip
extract them to one folder, e,g.,
- testFolder/sample_building_java_applications_multi_project-groovy-dsl
- testFolder/sample_building_java_applications-groovy-dsl

Research direction
Reproduce the issue by extracting the two linked Gradle sample projects into one folder and opening the parent folder in VS Code. Investigate how the extension imports project roots and determine what is causing the duplicate root element; done means the parent folder opens without the reported error.
