Description

Hi,
I would like to highlight that someone has just released an extension to parse variable in settings. So hopefully vscode-java extension can consider using it to support variable substitution for path- related settings such as "java.home", etc

Research direction

Start by reviewing how vscode-java currently handles path-related settings such as "java.home" and compare that behavior with the referenced vscode-variables extension. Define which settings and substitution forms are in scope, then verify that supported variables resolve correctly in those settings.
