let success = await commands.executeCommand('vscode.executeFormatDocumentProvider', docUri, {"java.format.enabled": true});

and it is not formatting the file
is it the correct API ?
Whats wrong with it ?

Research direction

Start with the reported vscode.executeFormatDocumentProvider invocation and the Java formatter configuration shown in the issue. Check how the extension registers document formatting and whether this command accepts the supplied options. Done means determining why the document is not formatted and documenting a reproducible result or a confirmed API limitation.
