Description

The helper might be used as a mirror registry in air gapped environments.

Moving from MBR to GPT/LVM:

  • Allows for resizing the rootvg if a need arises;

Add VDO:

  • Allows compression and deduplication;

Add Stratis:

  • Allows snapshots of the volume that is used for the registry.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by clarifying whether GPT/LVM, VDO, and Stratis are all required for the air-gapped registry use case, then define the partitioning, resizing, compression, deduplication, and snapshot requirements; done should be an agreed implementation scope.
