Description

Steps to reproduce

When I run any torrent, the program either hangs or crashes. The issue is similar to this: https://github.com/recloudstream/cloudstream/issues/1805

I think this one is also related: https://github.com/recloudstream/cloudstream/issues/2777

How to even watch a torrent? I maybe do something wrong.
My steps:

  • I changed the player to "Preferred video player - Always ask"
  • I have a plugin that provides magnets
  • When I click on the media, I'm getting the player selection screen
  • It only searches when I click "Play in mirror" or custom player like VLC
  • When I select any stream, cloudstream player just hangs. I cannot use VLC either because when I click it, cloudstream says app not found.
Expected behavior

I click on the media and it runs the torrent stream.

Actual behavior

The cloudstream player just hangs or crashes when you select a torrent "Play in mirror". I cannot select any other player too.

Cloudstream version and commit hash

Other details

I tried DNS over https and it's the same result. I don't have such issues with similar apps - at least they play something.

Acknowledgements
  • I am sure my issue is related to the app and NOT some extension.

  • I have written a short but informative title.

Research direction

Start by reproducing the torrent flow on Cloudstream 4.7.0 commit 235863f and Google TV 14, following the listed player-selection steps. Compare the behavior with issues 1805 and 2777 and capture useful Logcat output, which is currently empty. Done means torrent streams can be selected and played without the Cloudstream player hanging or crashing, and alternate-player selection behaves correctly.
