Video player compatibility issues

I know you guys are very busy and took your time to create such a wonderful app and this probably comes off as selfish but could you guys possible upgrade the internal player or fork a player like mpv because as it stands the current internal player cant handle complex video codecs and more and more shows are switching to complex codecs the internal player throws an error every time it tries to play these videos HW+SW doesn't work nor does playing the videos in an external player because cloud stream doesn't stay open in the background to update the shows progress that would be all.

Start by locating the Android app’s internal video-player implementation and the path that reports codec playback errors. Compare the current player’s supported codecs with the affected videos and investigate whether an alternative player can preserve background progress updates. Done means complex codecs play reliably and show progress continues updating when playback is not foregrounded.
