Description

Describe your suggested feature

Another quick feature idea that would be super helpful for many users (especially in India or multilingual regions):

Add a setting to auto-select preferred audio track based on language.

For example:

  • In app settings, add an "Preferred Audio Language" option where users can pick their default (like Hindi, English, Tamil, etc.).
  • When a video/stream has multiple audio tracks, the app automatically picks the one matching the user's preferred language (if available).
  • If the preferred one isn't there, it falls back to the default/original track.

This is similar to how Plex, Jellyfin, or YouTube handles it — no more manually switching audio every single time you watch something with dubbed/Hindi options.

Extra nice touches (if possible later):

  • Let users set a priority list (e.g., first try Hindi → then English → then original).
  • Or add a toggle for "Always prefer dubbed in my language" vs "Prefer original audio".
  • Show the selected language briefly when playback starts (like a small toast: "Playing in Hindi audio").

It would save a ton of clicks during binge-watching or when streaming from providers with lots of language options. Many users in non-English regions would love this!

No rush — just a suggestion as someone who enjoys the app a lot. Thanks for all the hard work you're putting in! 😊 Keep rocking it!

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named in the issue. Start by mapping the app settings area and the playback handling for multiple audio tracks, then define how preferred-language selection and fallback should work. Done should include a user setting that selects the matching track automatically when available.
