Download progress and download itself not working

Steps to reproduce

Even though a movie/episode (any video) is able to play, irrespective of the provider or source stream, the download never happens for the video file. Associated subtitles get downloaded, but not the movie itself. It was working before the last 4 commits (2 releases prior). The progress has vanished as well.

Expected behavior

Video file should download, and the download progress should be visible as well.

Actual behavior

Subtitles get downloaded, but not the video file itself.

Reproduce the failure on Android 12 or 14 using the reported pre-release version, and inspect the linked Logcat output before comparing the last four commits. Trace the video download and progress behavior separately from subtitle downloads; done means the video file downloads and its progress is visible.
