Research direction
Reproduce the issue on Android 13 by casting an episode to a Chromecast, selecting subtitles, and starting playback. Trace the casting and subtitle-selection paths to determine why the selected track is absent from both the video and selection menu. Done means selected subtitles appear during Chromecast playback and remain reflected in the menu.
