Description

New Issue Checklist
New rule request

Is there a way to set default configuration/severity to error for some rules in the opt_in_rules at once? I don't want to use --strict or do that for each rule individually.

Please describe the rule idea, format
this issue's title as Rule Request: [Rule Name] and describe:

  1. Why should this rule be added? Share links to existing discussion about what
    the community thinks about this.
  2. Provide several examples of what would and wouldn't trigger violations.
  3. Should the rule be configurable, if so what parameters should be configurable?
  4. Should the rule be opt-in or enabled by default? Why?
See README.md for guidelines on when to mark a rule as opt-in.

Research direction

Start with the README.md opt-in rules guidance and the configuration behavior described in the issue. Determine how a shared default severity for multiple opt_in_rules should be represented, then verify that the proposed behavior applies to all selected rules without requiring --strict or individual entries.
