Description

Hello, i was surfing the web when I came across this domain: https://readsthedocs.com/
As you may notice it has an 's' that should not be there (reads)
After a quick whois + dns lookup it is revealed (https://whois.domaintools.com/readsthedocs.com) that this domain is bought from Russia, far away from where the original domain is registered.

The footer lacks the GitHub, Twitter, and Mastodon buttons, they are hidden. As of today it does redirect users to the normal site when clicking on 'log in' or 'sign up', or so appears to do.

I have also a copy of the webpage in archive.is: https://archive.is/mQRTq

Research direction

Review the reported readsthedocs.com domain, the WHOIS/DNS link, and the archived copy at archive.is/mQRTq, comparing them with the official Read the Docs website. Done means documenting whether the site is counterfeit and recording the maintainer-approved response; the issue names no repository files or tests.
