Description
Hello,
Sphinx allows for documenting comments starting with "#:", above or just after the variable. I am not able to use such comments with Read the Docs autoapi, which is a shame. Would it be possible to add their handling to the package?

Research direction
Start by tracing how AutoAPI extracts documentation for variables, then compare that behavior with Sphinx's handling of comments beginning with #: above or after a variable. The work is done when those comments are recognized and included in the generated API documentation.
