Description

Describe the feature and the current behavior/state.

Today, I can use Raycast to control a lot of things on my computer, but I can't use Raycast – or a similar tool, that I know of – to control apps within my browser.

The ability to do this might be pretty amazing, though I'm not sure how such a project might relate to the Raycast we know of today – could it be a fork designed for use within browsers, that leverages many of the same infrastructure/API's that have enabled raycast extension developers to build so prolifically? something within raycast itself? a totally separate project that merely takes some inspiration?

The specific use-case I want is the omnibar that Superhuman provides, but within Gmail itself, such that I can do things like "cmd+k" -> "snooze" -> "next monday 3pm" and have the current email snooze to the appropriate time, which currently takes a ton of clicks. Slow!

Of course, there are all sorts of things that happen in various web UI's that require a ton of clicks today, and would be amazing to just be an omnibar action or shortcut instead. A nice extension framework and consistent UI that lets devs build omnibar/shortcut-control for actions within any common webapp could be a pretty huge usability improvement for power-users the world over.

If anyone would be interested in working on this, I might be interested in sponsoring it!

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by determining whether this belongs in the existing Raycast extensions project or requires a separate Chrome extension, then define the scope and architecture for controlling web apps such as Gmail; completion criteria are not specified.
