https://www.raycast.com/gebeto/translate

Raycast Version

v0.38.1.0

macOS Version

Win 11 25H2 (Build 26200.7171)

Description

The three commands: Instant translate view/copy/paste always returns "No text selected. Please select text to translate."
Tested in different programs and editable/non-edotable text.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. highlight text (e.g. in this text box)
  2. start Raycast
  3. type in the Instant translate command (text in the background application still highlighted, Raycast has focus)
  4. Raycast window closes, focus switches to other application, error pops up
Current Behaviour

No response

Expected Behaviour

The highlighted text should be copied and translated.

Research direction

Start by locating the Google Translate extension and its three Instant translate view/copy/paste commands, then reproduce the failure with selected text in another application on the reported versions. Done means each command recognizes the highlighted text, copies it as needed, and translates it instead of reporting that no text is selected.
