Description
Suppose I have my up-to-date version of DrRacket set to my favorite color scheme (“Tol’s Color-Blind Safe”, of course).
Suppose I open another DrRacket to test something. (Say, a vanilla installation of 6.0, but AFAICT this happens with any previous version.) DrRacket will switch to its default color scheme.
When I get back to my current version of DrRacket, the color scheme will likewise be switched to the default.

Research direction
Reproduce the issue by opening the current DrRacket alongside an older version and changing the color scheme. Trace the preference handling from the DrRacket startup path; done means opening another version no longer changes the configured color scheme in the current version.
