Description
Describe the solution you'd like
It would be nice to benchmark the GIN index in the postgresql metastore in order to speed up queries related to tag pruning.
It could improve performance for huge datasets with many splits and a lot of tags.

Research direction
Start by locating the PostgreSQL metastore schema and the tag-pruning query path, then benchmark current performance against a GIN index for tag-related queries. Use large datasets with many splits and tags, and consider the work done when the benchmark shows whether the index provides a meaningful improvement.
