Description
Clients don't have to be async, it's more the necessity for the server-side components. But this library forces a client to run inside an async runtime introducing unnecessary complexity for many cases.

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating where the client requires an async runtime, then clarify the desired synchronous client API and its boundaries. Done should include an agreed design and tests showing clients can be used without running inside an async runtime.
