Description

If I just do eg:

    graph = nx.DiGraph()

mypy complains that

var-annotated Need type annotation for "graph"

Is there some issues with the stubs here that makes mypy not understand that nx.DiGraph() instantiates an instance of the class DiGraph?

Research direction

Reproduce the reported snippet with mypy, then inspect the available stubs for networkx.DiGraph and compare them with mypy's interpretation. Done means identifying whether the stub causes the missing annotation diagnostic and documenting or correcting the relevant typing behavior.
