Description
Would it be possible to mark a tag as release in github making it possible to track when there is new release for mypy?
Tracking of tags is not possible in github while tracking releses is very useful and I use it on bunch of projects that do proper releases.

Research direction
The issue asks for mypy tags to be marked as GitHub releases so release tracking works. Start by reviewing the repository's current release and tag process together with its GitHub release settings; done means new mypy releases are visible through GitHub's release-tracking mechanism.
