Description
Hi Folium Community!
We are excited to share foliplus – an open‑source extension that complements Folium with advanced UI/UX and layer management, while keeping 100% offline HTML compatibility.
🌟 Why foliplus?
We love Folium’s simplicity and standalone HTML outputs. However, in real‑world projects like supply chain analytics, we repeatedly hit native limitations:
- Fragmented UI – Native plugins use mismatched legacy
leaflet-barthemes, creating inconsistent controls that hurt map professionalism. - Limited layer management – Native
LayerControlonly toggles visibility: no z‑order reordering, no layer icons, no APIs for cross‑component interaction, and no dynamic layer add/remove after map rendering.

Research direction
Read the linked foliplus documentation, especially the quickstart display-map page, to understand the proposed extension suite and its UI and layer-management goals. The issue does not identify Folium files, tests, an entry point, or a concrete acceptance condition, so the work is not ready to start from this issue alone.
