Description
Recently I learned that GitHub now supports release immutability:
https://github.blog/changelog/2025-10-28-immutable-releases-are-now-generally-available
I think we should enable this for pytest, or even perhaps organization wide.

Research direction
Read the linked GitHub changelog first, then inspect the repository and organization release settings to determine whether immutability can be enabled at either scope. Clarify whether the goal is pytest-only or organization-wide; done means the agreed setting is enabled and verified for future releases.
