Description

Forwarded from Debian-Bug#872992.

The TL;DR is that testing with Qt 5.9 fails because of a change in the logging. The reporter solved this by exporting QT_LOGGING_RULES="default.debug=true" prior to running the tests.

Research direction

No file or test path is named. Reproduce the test failures with Qt 5.9, then inspect the test setup and CI commands to determine where the QT_LOGGING_RULES setting belongs. Done means the affected test suite passes under Qt 5.9 without logging-related failures.
