Description

Part of the compilers decoupling epic #5264 (Extraction).

Once decoupling (Phase 1) and the public API (Phase 2) land, stand up the standalone distribution.

  • Repo: coherent-oss/compilers.C (repo name == distribution name, a Coherent prerequisite)
  • compilers remains a namespace package so future compilers.<lang> siblings can be added
  • Build system: skeleton vs Coherent — leaning Coherent

Research direction

Start by reading the compilers decoupling epic #5264 and confirming that Phases 1 and 2 have landed. Then assess the proposed coherent-oss/compilers.C distribution, including the namespace-package requirement and the skeleton versus Coherent build-system choice. Done means the standalone distribution is established with those decisions reflected.
