Description

In the MANIFEST.IN I'm including from directory called build, setuptools automatically exclude this directory.

How to achieve the same behavior of python setup.py sdist --no-prune in setuptools to disable the standard “exclude” sets?

Thanks.

Research direction

Start by comparing the MANIFEST.IN inclusion of the build directory with the setup.py sdist --no-prune behavior described in the issue. Determine whether setuptools exposes an equivalent configuration or needs support for disabling its standard exclusions; done means the build directory is retained in the source distribution.
