Description

Hello,

I was running nucleo board STM32F103RBT6 using VS code extension https://github.com/Marus/cortex-debug/ I could not make use of showing SVD mapped region of GPIOA. It was not updating. It started to work after switching to openOCD.
Whole description is documented here:

Research direction

Start with the STM32F103RBT6 reproduction described in the issue and compare the behavior when using the VS Code cortex-debug extension versus OpenOCD. Read the linked cortex-debug issue 210 for the complete description. Done means identifying and documenting the cause of the non-updating GPIOA SVD-mapped region, with a verified fix or clear reproduction result.
