Research direction

Start by reading the GitHub Actions workflow and the repository's test.py script to determine how built wheels can be tested. Confirm the expected wheel-testing command, then add a CI step or job that runs it against the built wheels. Done means the workflow tests the packaged wheels successfully.

Description

I'd be nice to have the built wheels tested in CI as well.

If it's something simple like running the test.py script I'd be happy to provide a PR adding a test step/job to the GitHub Actions workflow, just need a confirmation about how to test it.
