Description

Notebook proposal

pm.gp.HSGP doesn't have a notebook yet, so this is similar in style to the existing GP reference examples.

Why should this notebook be added to pymc-examples?

The nb will show basic usage and also some more advanced models. There are some tricky things about the approximation to get right, so this should help people with that too.

Suggested categories:

  • Level: intermediate
  • Diataxis type: Reference & How-To?

Related notebooks

It should fit in with the other GP reference notebooks.

References

If applicable, references and material that could help in writing the notebook.

Research direction

Start at the pm.gp.HSGP entry point and compare the existing GP reference notebooks for structure and placement. Create a notebook covering basic usage and more advanced models, including the approximation details that are tricky to apply. Done means the HSGP reference example is integrated with the other GP notebooks and supports the proposed intermediate reference/how-to categories.
