Description
We regularly forget to merge back main into develop once there are changes to develop.
This is probably something we should document better or implement/have workflow reminders for it.

First steps
- Read the whole issue, then the project's contributing guide.

Research direction
Start by locating the repository's contribution, pull request, or branch workflow documentation; the issue does not name a file or entry point. Determine whether the intended outcome is clearer guidance for merging main into develop, workflow reminders, or both, and document the agreed process so contributors can tell when the synchronization is complete.
