Research direction

No xarray file or test is named. Start by reviewing xarray's existing Dask-array integration and the Ramba project linked in the issue to identify the integration surface and compatibility requirements. Done means xarray supports Ramba distributed arrays as an alternative to Dask arrays, with the needed behavior covered by tests.
