Description

Sometimes the magnitude of a variable can vary dramatically across a given coordinate, which makes 2d plots generated by xr.FacetGrid difficult to interpret. It would be useful if an option to xr.FacetGrid could be specified which allows each subplot to have its own colorbar.

Research direction

The issue names xr.FacetGrid as the entry point, but provides no file or test path. Start by locating that implementation and its current colorbar behavior; done means an option produces a separate colorbar for each subplot, with coverage for the behavior.
