Description

Is your feature request related to a problem?

It would be nice to get more access to the other matplotlib internals. Currently one cannot use Data*.plot.errorbar which would have been really nice.

I guess in some of the cases they could be hidden in one class that decides based on method call to limit code duplication.

It makes things a bit harder with hue, but for no hue data-sets this method would be valuable.

Research direction

Start by locating the DataArray and Dataset .plot entry points and the existing matplotlib dispatch, then trace how methods are exposed when no hue is used. Compare the current behavior with matplotlib's errorbar interface and determine the scope needed for consistent no-hue support; done means the requested plotting call works and its behavior is covered by tests.
