Description

I was recommended to ask this on the dask github issues threads here.

Would it be possible to implement a Cholesky Decomposition function for Sparse matrices? I understand this may not be a high priority currently but would be enormously helpful in the future!

Research direction

The issue does not identify implementation files, tests, or a concrete API. Start by reading the linked Dask discussion and reviewing the repository's existing sparse matrix operations; the work is ready only after the supported Cholesky behavior and acceptance tests are defined.
