Problem description

The CVE in the title is getting flagged in my project, This CVE has been fixed in pytest 7.2.0. Is it possible to upgrade pytest in pybind?

Reproducible example code

Fetch content pybind in a cmake file.

The folder containing the pybind sources contains requirements.txt, which contains the line:

pytest~=7.0

Is this a regression? Put the last known working version here if it is.

Not a regression

Start with tests/requirements.txt at line 9 and inspect how that requirement is consumed by the CMake-based fetch setup. Verify the pytest version against the project's test environment and dependency constraints; done means the reported CVE is no longer flagged without breaking the test setup.
