Research direction
Start by reproducing the Tree Interpreter issue through the intercept method with data containing the date value 2020-12-05. Trace the intercept entry point and the conversion that raises the float error. Done means the supported handling of date-valued data is established and covered by an appropriate regression test or clearly documented limitation.
