Description
At the moment, it does not seem possible to have menu items to have formatted text strings. I would like to get the look of Borland's Turbo Vision user interface (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_Vision) using prompt-toolkit, and the ability to have a FormattedText string describe the MenuItem text would be very helpful.

Research direction
The issue names MenuItem and FormattedText but does not identify files or tests. Start by locating the MenuItem implementation and existing FormattedText handling, then determine how formatted menu labels should be represented and tested. Done means a MenuItem can display a FormattedText label while preserving normal menu behavior.
