Description

i met a problem when input contains chinese characters. i use the input as example and got this.

from prompt_toolkit import prompt
if __name__ == "__main__":
    answer = prompt("Give me some input: ")
    answer = answer.encode("utf-8",errors='surrogateescape').decode('utf-8')
    print("You said: %s" % answer)

Result:

python get_input.py
Give me some input: ??????

Research direction

Start by reproducing the supplied get_input.py example with Chinese input and inspect prompt_toolkit's input and encoding handling. Done means the entered Chinese characters are displayed and returned correctly without the manual encode/decode workaround.
