Description
Look into what communication library backends (NCCL, GLOO, MPI, etc.) are currently supported via the SDK and submission to Ray (and direct MCAD potentially), and what we may need to change if anything not currently supported would be desirable.
Likely the three we are interested in at the moment (old article, but interesting):

Research direction
Inspect the SDK's submission paths and how they integrate with Ray and potentially direct MCAD. Compare current support for NCCL, GLOO, and MPI, using the linked communication-backend comparison as context, then document which backends are supported and what changes would be needed for desirable unsupported options.
