Description

An equivalent to Linux NetworkManager should be available to check if on wifi/ethernet, or, some connected hotspot/satellite/4g that likely is metered and not something to download the latest repeaters off of. As of now this option isn't in settings for Windows branch.

Research direction

Review the Windows settings branch and the issue's linked pull request #13 to understand the current platform-specific implementation. Determine how the application can identify Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and potentially metered mobile connections on Windows. Done means the Windows settings provide an equivalent connection check that prevents unsuitable downloads.
