Description

Relevant sub-area for this feature?

Core/Environment/Rendering

Feature description

Minor feature. I feel it would be nice for users to have the option of hiding line numbers if they would like to, as is common in other coding sketchbooks. This could be set in preferences, with default line numbers showing.

Benefits

Some users may want a more distraction-free, minimalist environment.

Possible challenges

None, this should be a simple feature to implement

Research direction

Start in the Core/Environment/Rendering area and trace how editor preferences control line-number rendering. Confirm how preferences are stored and applied, then verify that line numbers remain shown by default and can be hidden through the new preference.
