Description
Prefetch functionality is not working on GH Pages deploys. The requests are returning 301's. I can investigate a little but the default will be to disable since this functionality was not in the scope.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the prefetch requests on a GitHub Pages deploy and inspect why they return 301 responses. The issue mentions disabling prefetch as the default fallback; done means either restoring working prefetch requests or confirming that the functionality is disabled, with the deployed behavior verified.
