Description
Feature enhancement: Add option to make login permanent instead of session based
- Existing feature enhancement
Feature enhancement details:
After somebody closes their browser, they are automatically logged out. Wouldn't it make sense to have a checkbox at login that lets you stay logged in? If this is a requested feature, I would be more than happy to work on it.

Research direction
Start by tracing the existing login and session behavior in the web editor; the issue does not name specific files, tests, or entry points. Determine how a login checkbox should distinguish permanent from session-based authentication, then verify that the selected behavior persists after the browser is closed without weakening logout behavior.
