This is a follow-up issue of https://github.com/precice/precice.github.io/pull/257 motivated by the following discussion:
The step-by-step guide needs a larger redesign due to multiple changes in version 3: Some unimportant features are mentioned too early and too prominently. Some important features are mentioned too late.
