Deploying a python shiny app?

Curious about deploying a python shiny app if you don't need the full resources of a posit connect but just want a simple app put up on the cloud.

It says on the main site: "Shiny for Python is built on top of the modern Python web stack, using Starlette and asyncio. You have lots of deployment options including our own cloud hosting or (open source and commercial) self-hosted server software, or anywhere that hosts FastAPI apps, like Hugging Face or Heroku."

However, for Heroku when I look at the guide it says: We had high hopes for Heroku, as they have a documented option for session affinity. However, for reasons we don’t yet understand, the test application consistently fails to pass. We’ll update this page as we find out more.

What am I missing here?

Start with the Shiny for Python deployment guide linked in the issue, then review its Heroku section and the referenced test application behavior. Determine which simple cloud deployment options are currently supported and whether the Heroku warning is still accurate; done means the documentation clearly answers the deployment question or identifies the required investigation.
