Research direction
Start with shiny/shinyapp.py at lines 158-162 and inspect the update_input_*() functions in the surrounding app/session flow. Determine the intended app/session-level behavior for request_flush(); done means it is implemented and used by those update functions, with reactive-domain behavior preserved.
