Description

Workbench's rserver.conf has a configuration auth-required-user-group that accepts a comma delimited list of groups that may be allowed to log into Workbench. This configuration is optional and if it does not exist Workbench will allow any user to login. See https://docs.posit.co/ide/server-pro/admin/authenticating_users/restricting_access.html#restricting-by-group

Research direction

Start with the Workbench rserver.conf setting and the linked documentation describing auth-required-user-group. Identify the project entry point that handles this configuration; done means an optional comma-delimited group list restricts login access, while leaving it unset permits any user to log in.
