Description

Feature Request

Sometimes users want to split an existing console's state into a new "copy" or fork of that console. This would allow users to diverge in their exploration, testing or other work.

it'd be even better if Positron had a "fork this console" feature that could duplicate an existing console session.

Research direction

The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Start by locating how an existing console session stores and exposes its state, then define the scope and completion criteria for creating an independent fork that can diverge from the original.
